New Jersey Sailing School is proud to introduce Mariners Learning System™ a series of Online Captain's License training programs approved by the United States Coast Guard. Students who successfully complete any of the approved courses will be awarded a certificate that will be accepted in lieu of the standard Coast Guard examination. Whether you choose to study in your home, office, traveling as long as you have access to the internet and your computer, Mariners Learning System™ is there to help you 24 hours a day seven days a week.

Beginning October 2007, the ASA introduced a one time certification fee. For an additional $40 fee, newly certified Basic Keelboat sailors will receive a package of valuable member benefits from the ASA. We are happy to announce that this fee is now part of the Basic Sailing Tuition. You can look forward to receiving your personalized ASA membership card, which will list all the ASA levels for which you have been certified. You will gain access to ASA's online certification database, where you can review your certification levels and provide us with your current contact information. Finally you'll receive a complimentary one-year ASA membership which includes: a free one-year subscription to ASA's Quarterly Members' Magazine, a free one-year subscription to Sailing Magazine and various nautical discount coupons. * SAILING LESSONS. SAILING INSTRUCTION. SAILING SCHOOL. LEARN TO SAIL. They all mean the same thing except we have maintained the top rating as judged by the ASA. For TEN YEARS we have been voted ASA School of the Year! Look for more Sailing Courses and seminars including weekday lessons, Radar / GPS Seminar, Cruising Catamaran Courses, special Bareboat Chartering Courses (BBC). We have offices in the Philadelphia area and at the Jersey Shore in Pt. Pleasant. We offer the "official" NJ Safe Boating Course, Diesel Clinic, USCG Approved Coast Guard License Courses AND Sailing Workshops (Which will run through the summer of 2009). The Special BBC Courses are more extensive ASA Bareboat Chartering Courses that run for 3 to 4 days and may be a one way destination trip - FULL DAY - Sailing "Delivery" Workshop. Sail on our 45 Island Packet all day this spring from Pt. Pleasant to Keyport. Sailing Workshops permit supervised Sailing on 30' - 45' Sloop. Some trips will include an evening sail for 4 hours, other will include full days of sailing in the ocean or bay.

* THE BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS TRIP 20010 will follow the path of the previous trips. A pre-departure briefing in Pt. Pleasant will be scheduled several weeks in advance and will feature Jimmy Buffet songs and Pain Killer. All participants will get the pre sail briefing while relaxing in a social setting. ASA Certification for Basic Coastal Cruising, Bareboat Chartering and Cruising Catamaran was available. All are welcome to just came along for the experience. The price is $1,495 / person which included 7 days of sailing, 7 breakfast, 7 lunch and 4 dinners + all mooring taxes.

* ASA Weather Certification The NJSS is happy to announce that we will be offering the new ASA Weather Certificatioon course this fall. Watch for more information.
* Island Packet 45 One way Delivery Trip Again this fall we will be offering a one way delivery workshop on our Island Packet 45. This trip is scheduled for May 16 (May 17 is the back up date in the event of unsafe cobditions on the 16th) We will be sailing fromPt Pleasant, NJ to Keyport, NJ. The trip begins at 7:30AM. BECOME AN ASA CERTIFIED INSTRUCTOR IN THE SPRING AND RECEIVE A LIMITED USCG LICENSE .
The ASA IQ will be offered from our location in Pt. Pleasant, NJ. New Jersey Sailing School's ASA 201 has now been fully approved by the United States Coast Guard. This approval allows us to issue the recipients a Certificate of Training which qualifies them for a United States Limited Coast Guard license without having to take the exam at the USCG Station. The NJ Safe Boating Course is now available as an add-on to our ASA Basic Sailing Class!. An additional day will be needed to take this class. Significant savings will be offered if you accept this option. If you plan on purchasing a boat, this certificate may earn you an insurance discount. Ask your insurance agent.
