Bareboat Chartering (104)
Cruising Catamaran (114)
About
the Course
New Jersey Sailing School's combined Bareboat chartering (104) and Cruising Catamaran (114) course is now being offered onboard the training vessels Destiny's Desire, a 42' Catana and Kathleen D, a 41' Maine Cat. This voyage offers excellent food and beverages, wonderful scenery, real-world navigation training with practical experience along some of the most scenic and beautiful waterways the East Coast has to offer. Navigation is done by using state-of-the-art GPS and e-chart navigation as well as traditional log and compass techniques using paper charts. We will cover real-life coastal navigation techniques while underway, with special emphasis on the practical hands-on use of radar. Instruction occurs in daily sessions, as well as individual instruction during watch standing. This three-day (3-night) trip offers plenty of private time for reading, navigation practice, and sight seeing underway. The Catana typically runs to/from Baltimore from Toms River; the Maine Cat runs from Keyport and return.

Spouses
and partners
If you have family or friends that may not be interested in all of the navigation training, they can still sign up for the three-day (3-night) voyage and only participate to the extent they wish. This voyage alone without all the extra navigation training is still a most wonderful and economical experience. The waterways we cruise are truly magical.
There is no smoking allowed on any of our vessels
