Coastal Navigation ( Pt Pleasant) - Two day classroom course plus an additional examination day. Includes text, piloting equipment, examination fee and Certification by ASA. Practice Boats & MENTOR Sails - After you have taken at least the Basic Course, we have 22' - 23' boats for you to rent. Club membership is discounted with any course we offer. Basic Sailing - Two days of hands on instruction with four to a boat. Vessel is 26'. Includes text and test. ASA Membership, Membership in Daysailor Club, and USCG Safe Boating. Course can all be added at a discount. From --- $359.00 (Weekdays) Currently discounted if booked online Basic Coastal Cruising (Pt Pleasant) - Two days of hands on instruction on 28' inboard sloop with wheel steering. Includes examination fee and Certification by ASA. From ---$339.00 (Weekdays) Currently discounted if booked online Bareboat Chartering (Pt Pleasant) - Two and a half days (long weekend) of live aboard instruction given on a 30' - 36' sloop. Includes text, food and beverage and Certification by ASA. (One dinner will be the responsibility of the student. We will visit a local restaurant ashore.) In addition we also have "Special" Bareboat Chartering courses that are 1 - 2 days longer and are sometimes "one way" trips. Take the Basic Sailing class and then enjoy the more advanced Basic Coastal Cruising or take the Basic Coastal Cruising class along with the Bareboat Chartering. Add additional persons for $116 each) Flotilla 2011 (BVI) - Sail the British Virgin Islands and other exotic waters with one of our instructors and earn your ASA certificate in the islands. Become an ASA certified instructor. Course offered several times a year. Certification from Basic Keelboat Instructor through Bareboat Chartering Instructor available in April 2010, as follows: In Pt Pleasant - Basic Sailing May 21-22; Basic Coastal Cruising/Coastal Navigation May 22-23, and Bareboat Chartering May 24. Instructor certification courses are scheduled through the ASA directly at ASA INSTRUCTOR Three years sailing experience necessary. NOTE: New Jersey Sailing School has been approved by the USCG to have these Basic Sailing clinics approved so that all successful candidates will be able to apply for a Limited USCG license without taking a written examination. Successful completion of this course (ASA 201) will satisfy the USCG requirements for a license as a Limited Master of Vessels of Not More Than 100 Tons or Limited Operator of an Uninspected Passenger Vessel. If you are already licensed successful completion of this course will allow you to add on the Sailing Endorsement to your license.
